A continuation of the themes explored in
PSCI 4306 with an emphasis on modern conceptions of democracy and empire in political theories including Machiavelli, Hobbes, Hegel, Tocqueville and Heidegger.
Precludes additional credit for
PSCI 5308.
Prerequisite:
PSCI 4306 or permission of the Department.
Seminar three hours a week.
