Academic Regulations of the University

Section 2.5 - Deferred Final Examinations - The regulations outlined in the first paragraph have been modified, and requirement 2.5 b) has been modified. (Update posted August 1, 2008)

Section 2.6 - Deferred Term Work - The regulations have been modified: item 2.6 c) has been added, and the deferred term assignment due dates have been modified. (Update posted August 1, 2008)

Section 14.6 f) - The Examination Regulations wording has been modified to reflect the changes in Sections 2.5 above. (Update posted September 24, 2008, minor editorial change September 30, 2008)

 

Academic Year

Winter term 2009 - The last day for tests or examinations in courses below the 4000-level before the final examination period has been changed FROM March 20, 2009 TO March 24, 2009 (update posted November 12, 2008).

 

Admission Requirements: Undergraduate Degree programs

Arts Co-op Option: Law, Item 2.d. Reference to LAWS 3907 has been changed to LAWS 2908. (Update posted July 4, 2008)

African Studies

Two new courses have been added: AFRI 1001 Introduction to African Studies I and AFRI 1002 Introduction to African Studies II (Update posted May 20, 2008)

 

Biology

B.Sc. Honours Combined Biology and Physics - Item 1 and Item 7 have been updated to reflect modifications that had been made to the Physics requirements of the combined program. (Update posted June 5, 2008)

 

Canadian Studies

A crosslisting to FINS 2500 has been added to CDNS 2500 Interfaces between English and French Canadian Cultures. (Update posted June 18, 2008)

A crosslisting to FINS 3510 has been added to CDNS 3510 Québec Studies. (Update posted June 18, 2008)

Chemistry

B.Sc.Combined Hons. Chemistry and Computer Science - Item #11 (1.0 credit in free electives) had been left off from the Chemistry version of this combined program description, in error. The description has been corrected. (Update posted September 21, 2009)

 

Economics

A new course has been added: ECON 3510 African Economic Development. (Update posted June 4, 2008)

Modifications have been made to the following courses (Updates posted June 4, 2008):

ECON 4700 Measurement Economics - the prerequisite has been changed.
ECON 4504 Financial Market Modeling - the title and course description have been modified and the preclusion and prerequisite statements have been changed.
ECON 3520 Canadian Economic Development - the title and course description have been modified.

B.A. Honours Economics and B.A. Honours Applied Economics with Concentration in Development - Item 2 has been modified to include ECON 3510 and ECON 3520 and to allow only one of ECON 4806 and ECON 4807 to count. (Update posted June 4 and June 25, 2008).

Engineering

Course Categories - Basic Science Electives has been added to the Course Categories section (Update posted September 3, 2008).

Program Requirements: Modifications have been made to the following programs, to incorporate an additional requirement for 0.5 credit in Basic Science Electives (Update posted September 3, 2008):

Communication Studies/Mass Communication

Three new courses have been added under the new Communication Studies program: COMM 2301 Persuasion and Public Life, COMM 2401 Communications and Cultural Institutions in Ottawa, and COMM 2601 Media Depictions of Society (Update posted May 14, 2008)

 

First Year Seminars

FYSM 1004 - The title has been changed from Survey of English Literature to Literature, Genre, Context, and the course description modified. (Update posted June 5, 2008)

 

History

The course descriptions for HIST 3809 and HIST 3811 have been modified: the statement precluding credit for HIST 3808 [1.0] has been removed. (Update posted May 20, 2008)

 

Interdisciplinary Science

ISCI 2002 - The statement precluding credit for ISCI 2000 has been removed from the course description. (Update posted June 16, 2008)

 

Linguistics and Applied Language Studies

B.A. General Linguistics - The requirement for LALS 2003 in item 2 is replaced by LALS 2005, as LALS 2003 is no longer offered. (Update posted April 29, 2008)
B.A. Combined Honours Linguistics - Reference to LALS 3103 in item 3 has been changed to LALS 3101 to correct a typographical error. (Update posted April 29, 2008)
Linguistics courses - LALS 3601 Language Processing and the Brain I - the course description has been corrected to include a cross-reference to PSYC 3709. (Correction posted May 1, 2008)


Mathematics and Statistics

MATH 2000 - The prerequisites have been changed. (Update posted July 31, 2008)

MATH 2100 - The title, course description, and prerequisites have been changed. (Update posted July 31, 2008)


Psychology

Psychology courses - PSYC 3709 Language Processing and the Brain - the course description has been corrected to include a cross-reference to LALS 3601.(Correction posted May 1, 2008)

 

Social Work

SOWK 4601 and SOWK 4602 - Class format: the number of field hours has been corrected from 365 to 182. (Correction posted September 11, 2008)
