Special Topic

Topic for 2005-06: Opinion Writing. The theory and practice of writing columns, editorials and criticism. Unlike news reporting, opinion writing demands that the writer’s views be expressed, which creates both opportunities and pitfalls. This seminar examines the opinion writer’s craft, with readings from some of its finest practitioners.
Seminar three hours a week.
