The water main that provides domestic water service to Renfrew and Prescott Houses has broken underground and needs to be repaired. In order to carry out the repairs, the water to these building has been shut off. While completion of repairs as quickly as possible is the priority, it is not yet known when water service will be restored.

While water service is interrupted, students in Renfrew and Prescott will be unable to use their bathroom as there will be no supply of water for washing, showering and use of the toilet. The nearest alternate bathroom facilities are found at the main level Minto Case building and the main level of the Residence Commons building. If you are in need of a hot shower, the locker room facilities at Athletics are available to you, until 11:00 p.m. Please ensure that you have your Campus Card to gain access to these facilities and please take your own towel, as towels cannot be provided by Athletics. If you require bottled drinking water, it will be distributed to residents of Renfrew House at the main floor laundry room and to residents of Prescott House at the main floor Multi Purpose room, after 4:30 p.m.

As more is learned about progress in fixing this problem, affected students will receive additional e-mail advice.

We apologize for the inconvenience that the water main break is causing and are committed to fixing the problem as soon as possible.
