SPPA PhD Write-In
The first Carleton School of Public Policy Ph. D. Write-In will take place from July 25 to July 29.
Write-In participants commits themselves to write for four hours each day for a week. SPPA provides space and refreshments. As a “commitment device,” participants give the organizers a cheque for $50 at the beginning of the week. The cheque is then returned at the end of the week if the participant has followed through on their writing commitment. At the University of Chicago, the Write-In has become a quarterly occurrence with students lining up to participate. The idea is described the Nudge blog.
