Description

In June 2012, Carleton University hosted a meeting attracting over 200 academic, government and industry scientists, government officials and farming organizations from 27 countries to discuss the important problem of mycotoxins in food and feed. Although the focus was on the United States and Canada, the science is universal in its application and of global significance. This was the 5th meeting in a series initiated by a group based at the National Research Council of Italy (CNR). In Ottawa, presentations from grain millers, food companies, value chain managers and farmers suggested the need for better and more effective consultation on the regulation of mycotoxins because of their ever increasing economic, social and environmental importance.
