<p>The Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Affairs and the Office of the Vice-President (Research and International) would like to announce the launch of the fourth annual Faculty Graduate Mentoring Award. This award is intended to recognize faculty who render exceptional service to graduate students as supervisors and research mentors. The effect of such faculty on the careers of students is frequently transformational.</p>
<p>In order to be considered for an award, faculty must be nominated. Nominators can be current and/or former graduate students, faculty members, and/or staff. Nominations from former and/or current graduate students are particularly welcomed. Nominations should include a statement of no more than 500 words, attesting to the nominee’s exceptional contribution to graduate student supervision and research mentorship. Each individual must submit his/her own nomination. Unsuccessful nominees from previous years may be nominated again.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The front doors of the MacOdrum Library will be re-opening on Monday, July 22.</p>
<p>All access to the library will be through an outside ramp next to Dunton Tower. There will be no tunnel access to the library until further notice.  The temporary doors giving tunnel access for people with disabilities and access through the doors on the Southam Hall side of the building will be closed.</p>
<p>Updates about the construction will be provided as information becomes available on the <a href="http://www.library.carleton.ca/" target="_blank">MacOdrum Library Website</a>.</p>

Phase One of the new and improved Electronic Thesis Deposit (ETD) procedure will be launched on that date. For grad students, this means that, as of Aug. 1., you will]]></description>
				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Effective Aug. 1, you will no longer have to deliver two hard copies of your<strong> FINAL </strong> thesis to the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Affairs (FGPA).</p>
<p>Phase One of the new and improved Electronic Thesis Deposit (ETD) procedure will be launched on that date.</p>
<p>For grad students, this means that, as of Aug. 1., you will now upload your final thesis/dissertation online. This version of your thesis will include all revisions that were requested at your thesis defence and have been approved by your supervisor.</p>
