Susan Phillips gives keynote address to the 2013 Canadian Association of Gift Planners conference

Susan Phillips, Director of the School of Public Policy and Administration, gave the luncheon keynote address to the 2013 conference of the Canadian Association of Gift Planners (CAGP-ACPDP) at the Lac Leamy Congress Centre on Wednesday. The conference was opened by the Governor General speaking on his priority of promoting ‘smart, caring’ communities.
Susan’s presentation to the 400 delegates from across the country addressed the future of philanthropy: Is there a distinctive model of Canadian philanthropy, and does it matter? She also gave a workshop on the School’s new Master of Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership (MPNL), the first graduate degree of its kind in Canada.
The 1350 member CAGP-ACPDP is the national professional association of donor advisors working toward achieving philanthropic goals through planned giving. Rowena Griffiths, Director, Personal and Planned Giving in Carleton’s University’s Advancement Office played a major role in the conference organizing committee.
