Job Opportunity – Research Assistant for the Fall Term

Project: 

To assist with managing logistics for the engagement stages in the development of the proposed Diploma and Master’s Concentration in Indigenous Policy and Administration.  The work will involve assisting with communications with scholars, industry, First Nations, Métis and Inuit leaders, NGOs and all levels of government, scheduling and planning focus groups and key informant interviews, research, and other logistical tasks.

Skills Required:

Excellent time management and organizational skills are required as well as strong written and oral communication skills; problem solving abilities; and the ability to work effectively on your own. Knowledge of wiki-sites, Excel and qualitative research methods are beneficial but not necessary.  An interest in First Nations, Métis and Inuit issues is also an asset.

Hours:

10 hours per week for 6 weeks starting ASAP.  Pay is $20/hr.  Timing of the work may be flexible and some of it can be done remotely, but there will be times when specific hours are required, some of which may require being in the School.  There is a possibility this position will be extended with additional responsibilities.
