IPAC- SPPA Speed-Networking Event
IPAC- SPPA Speed-Networking Event

Do you want to build your network of contacts? Do you want to gain valuable insight from new and long-time professionals in public administration?
A joint speed-networking event with the Institute for Public Administration Canada (IPAC) and School of Public Policy and Administration (SPPA) will be happening this month. This event allows students to gain advice and ask questions of professionals in public administration roles. The details are as follows:
When: Monday, January 28th
Time: 6pm-8pm (please do not arrive earlier than 5:50pm)
Where: The Lieutenant’s Pump, 361 Elgin Street
NOTE: Reservation is under the name Jamie House
RSVP : jamie_house@carleton.ca
The speed-networking event is run much like speed dating: students will be put into small groups to talk with professionals for 10 minutes at a time. After 10 minutes is up, the groups will move to the next professional. Since the format is integral to the success of the event, please RSVP to jamie_house@carleton.ca (maybes will not be registered) by the night of Friday, January 25th. If you are a “maybe,” it is fine to say “yes.” The more definite RSVPs there are, the easier it will be to ensure groups will not be too large.
As an added bonus, two special guests are able to attend: Robert Taylor, a former Assistant Deputy Minister and current IPAC CEO, and George Ross, a current Deputy Minister. Bios for all participating professionals will be available at the event.
If you have any questions about this event or other co-op issues, please let me know. Hope to see you there!
