SPPA students compete next week in the Canadian Evaluation Society annual Case Competition

Each year the Canadian Evaluation Society holds its annual Case Competition for all schools involved in the teaching of program evaluation. This year, I am very pleased to announce that we have five teams that are entered (3 diploma teams, and two master’s teams). In total, there are more than 25 teams competing in the preliminary round of the competition which takes place on Saturday, February 11th, 20112.

Our teams have worked very hard this term to prepare for next Saturday’s preliminary round having undergone some serious training from their coaches (myself and Steven Montague). The top three teams from the preliminary round will proceed to the final round which will take place at the CES National Conference to be held the second week of May in Halifax. I am confident that all of our teams have a very good chance of proceeding to the final round.

Please join me in wishing each of the teams and their members the very best as they compete on Saturday. I think that I speak for everyone when I say that it is time Carleton University takes this cup and places it where it belongs – in our trophy case! Last year we came very close with an overall second place finish to the University of Saskatchewan.
