Olivia Chow visit to SPPA’s PADM5117 class in public management on Tuesday, November 27th a success

MP Olivia Chow visited the School to discuss the intersection between politics and public management. She spoke about the urgent need for parliamentary reform, especially those reforms to dramatically amend the powers of the prime minister.
Although Ms. Chow sees the current activities of the government as detrimental to democracy and citizen engagement, she was hopeful that all of this was temporary. She was also hopeful that the current disrespect for the work of the Public Service
would also be alleviated over time, and that new graduates in public administration would find a fulfilling career there. The School is thankful for Ms. Chow’s generous time, and for her engagement with our faculty and students.
