Important Reminder: 2013-14 OGS Information for SPPA Students
Important Reminder: 2013-14 OGS Information for SPPA Students
The Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Affairs (FGPA) has announced that the ministry (that is, the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities) will be handing over responsibility for administering OGS awards to the universities. At this time, nothing has been formalized, but we do know the following:
-
application will be made to SPPA, using a Carleton application, to be located on the Carleton FGPA website;
-
SPPA will rank the submitted applications and send them to FGPA;
-
FPGA will hold information sessions for interested students in September (dates below);
-
FGPA will select committees to look at and evaluate the files;
-
the FGPA selection committees will make the decisions on who will receive an OGS award;
-
it is not yet clear whether the OGS award will be portable (i.e., transferable to a new institution) as it has been in past years;
As we receive further information regarding this new process you will be updated.
