Barbara Levine, Adjunct Professor, School of Public Policy and Administration, Carleton University, and Evren Tok, Assistant Professor, Hamad Bin Khalifa University, Qatar, Faculty of Islamic Studies, Public Policy in Islam Program, Member of Qatar Foundation, Doha, Qatar – publish a chapter in the journal “Government-Nonprofit Relations in Times of Recession.”

This chapter provides an appraisal of how the current global economic recession is impacting civil society and non-governmental organizations (CSO/NGO), especially those in the developing world, and assesses their potential to make a significant contribution to social and economic development in the developing South.
