Busy on Saturday, 28 June? If not, consider heading down to Brewer Park to cheer on CU Languages, a soccer team made up of international students, language students and a few teachers from the SLaLS Language Centre. The team is playing in the 10th annual Community Cup and has games at:

  • 8:30 a.m. (Field 6)
  • 11:05 a.m. (Field 2)
  • 1:05 p.m. (Field 2)

In addition to the 48 team tournament, Community Cup offers a wide variety of other activities for the whole family. Demonstration sports like Kendo, ball hockey, Chin Lone (cane ball), skateboarding, speedminton, and a bunch of martial arts will be on offer throughout the day as well as a Kid’s Zone, music and dance from Mexico, Peru, Iran, Congo, and Bangladesh, and a Citizenship Ceremony for a group of aspiring new Canadians.

There will also be all kinds of food trucks on site for delectable fare.

Admission is free…so stroll, bike or jog by…or park at Carleton and walk across.
