Genre 2012 Conference Registration Open

This year Carleton will host Genre 2012: Rethinking Genre 20 Years Later, an international conference on genre studies.

June 26 – 29, 2012

The Conference continues a scholarly conversation that originated in 1992 with the first international colloquium on Genre Studies, Rethinking Genre, also held Carleton University.

Guest speakers include Charles Bazerman, James Martin, Catherine Schryer, John Swales, and more.  There will also be special session presentations from, among others, Anthony Paré, Ann Johns, and Christine Tardy.

Several courses are offered to complement the Conference:

  • ALDS 5703 - Approaches to Genre Studies
  • ALDS 5905(Section G) – Special Topics in Applied Linguistics and Discourse Studies: “Recent & Current Research in Genre Studies”
