Student Safety Patrollers Hiring Process
Applications for the Student Safety Patrol are accepted year round as hiring may be necessary depending on the operational needs of the department. The majority of hiring is done in February for the following academic year commencing in September.
In order to qualify for the Student Safety Patrol Program applicants must meet the following criteria:
- meet the licencing requirements for security guards as outlined in the Private Investigators and Security Guards Act of Ontario,
- be registered in the second or subsequent year of their degree program for the year they are applying to the program,
- submit an application and resume to the SSP Program Co-ordinator,
- successfully complete an interview board of at least three Shift Managers and,
- pass a Vulnerable Sector Police Record Check and reference check.
