Directors of the Institute of Political Economy Award
Value $1,500. Awarded annually by the Dean of Graduate Studies and Postdoctoral Affairs, on the recommendation of the Awards Committee of the Institute of Political Economy to an outstanding student enrolled in their second year of the Master of Arts in Political Economy. Application is required. Eligible students will demonstrate scholarship and on-campus or broader community involvement. Established in 2012 by current and former Directors of the Institute in celebration of its 20th anniversary.

Directors of the Institute of Political Economy Prize
Value $500. Awarded annually by the Dean of Graduate Studies and Postdoctoral Affairs on the recommendation of the Awards Committee of the Institute of Political Economy to the Collaborative PhD student enrolled in the PECO Doctoral Seminar who in the opinion of the committee presents the best paper. Established in 2012 by current and former Directors of the Institute in celebration of its 20th anniversary.

Maria Neil Scholarship
Awarded annually by the Dean of Graduate and Postdoctoral Affairs, on the recommendation of the Institute of Political Economy, to an outstanding graduate student entering or continuing in the Masters of Arts program in Political Economy. Endowed in 2009 by Maria Neil.

Mathew Nelson Memorial Scholarship
Value $2,000. Awarded annually by the Dean of Graduate and Postdoctoral Affairs on the recommendation of the Director of the Institute of Political Economy to an outstanding graduate student enrolled in the Master of Arts in Political Economy or in the Collaborative PhD with a Specialization in Political Economy. Mathew Nelson, a doctoral student and former president of CUPE 4600, possessed an extraordinary mind with an unwavering belief in a better world through social activism. Recipients of this award will demonstrate these qualities. Established in 2017 by family, friends, and colleagues of Mathew Nelson.
