Contract Instructor positions in the Department of Philosophy

The appointment of all Contract Instructors at Carleton University is subject to the provisions of Articles 15 – 18 of the CUPE 4600 Unit 2 Collective Agreement.  It can be located on the union website at www.4600.cupe.ca.

Expressions of interest are invited from members of the CUPE 4600 bargaining unit and other interested persons to teach the following courses for the 2014-15 academic year:

Fall 2014:

Phil 1200:  Meaning of Life
Scheduled Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:00 – 7:30

Phil 2601:  Philosophy of Religion
Scheduled Mondays and Wednesdays, 2:30 – 4:00

Winter 2015:

Phil 1000:  Introductory Philosophy:  Fields, Figures and Problems
Scheduled Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:00 – 7:30

Phil 3380:  Environments, Technology and Values
Scheduled Mondays and Wednesdays, 4:00 – 5:30

All courses are subject to budgetary approval and the University reserves the right to cancel any courses with insufficient registration.  Some of these courses may be taught by employees who have the right to automatic reappointment.

The minimum qualification is normally an M.A. degree in the appropriate field.
