The Cognitive Science Ph.D. program at Carleton admits between five and eight students per year.  Our Cognitive Science M.Cog.Sc., program admits up to 15 students per year.  Due to this high level of competition, individuals are advised to submit applications as early as possible.

For both the M.Cog.Sc. and Ph.D. Programs 2014 Admission Cycle please note the following information:

For both Domestic and International Applicants, if you would like to be considered for funding, please complete your application as soon as possible.  Applications will be reviewed on a case by case basis.  Visit the Graduate Page to apply directly to the program of your choice.

Applicants are expected to have an Honours Bachelor’s degree or higher in a cognitive discipline. Most students who do not already have a Master’s degree will be considered for the M.Cog. program.

Applicants for both programs are expected to have a A- Average to be admitted, although B+ averages will be considered for the M.Cog.Sc. Program.  For international students please click here  for the equivalency requirements.

Financial assistance is available for students who are admitted to the program. We expect to be able to offer at least $14,000 in combined scholarship and teaching assistantship funds over twelve month periods. You will automatically be considered for this and other university-sponsored awards if your complete application is received before February 1st and you meet the criteria for the funding.
