This is the official book launch of the popular science book Riveted: The Science of Why Jokes Make Us Laugh, Movies Make Us Cry, and Religion Makes Us Feel One with the Universe by Jim Davies, associate professor at Carleton’s Institute of Cognitive Science. Mr.

Davies will describe the science of what draws our attention and keeps us interested, followed by an interview with Alan Neal of CBC’s “All In A Day.”

There will be a cash bar and light refreshments served. Copies of Riveted can be purchased at the event, and Mr. Davies will have a signing table.
