Funding for Summer Jobs 2013
Funding for Summer Jobs 2013
To Summer Student Hiring Managers:
Last year several departments within our university tapped into the Federal Government’s Canada Summer Jobs program. This program offers employment subsidy to create meaningful summer employment for students.
Why not utilize this resource when hiring your summer students this summer?
Carleton University is eligible to receive up to 50% of Ontario’s minimum hourly wage per student in funding. The program runs from May 6th – August 30th. Students must work full time hours (30 – 40 hours) for 6 – 16 weeks.
Human Resources will submit the application on behalf of the University and the funds will be distributed to the departments according to the Ministry’s budget. At this time you do not need to identify the students you would like to hire.
The application deadline is February 22, 2012 for this program.
Please complete the application form and send to summerstudentwork@carleton.ca before February 22, 2012.
Note: To maximize your funding support, it is best to ensure that the student will work at least 35 hours per week for the full 16 weeks.
Human Resources will post the summer student job openings on the HR website if desired.
Student Eligibility Requirements:
- Between the age of 15 and 30 years
- Currently registered in school
- Planning to return to school in September
- A resident of Ontario
