Provincial Summer Jobs Service 2013
Provincial Summer Jobs Service 2013
We are pleased to announce that the Ontario Summer Jobs Service Program is now available. Funded by Employment Ontario, this program offers employment subsidy to create meaningful summer employment for students. Carleton University is eligible to receive $2.00 per hour per student in funding for up to 16 weeks. The program runs from May 1st – September 30th.
Please read the following information carefully as the process set out by the employment centre has changed.
Those who applied to the Canada Summer Jobs Program in February are encouraged to apply for the Provincial program as well. You must complete the highlighted sections on the Provincial Summer Jobs Service application form.
Human Resources will submit the applications on behalf of the University and the funds will be distributed to the departments according to the Ministry’s budget. At this time you do not need to identify the students you would like to hire.
Please note: If you have been approved for a hiring subsidy, your student(s) must attend a Summer Jobs Service Registration Session at the YSB Employment Centre to complete all the necessary documentation and paperwork. More information about the location of this session will be provided once a funding decision has been made.
Students you hire are required to register for an online account with YSB Employment and upload their resume.
The application deadline is April 5, 2013 for this program.
Student Eligibility Requirements:
- Between the age of 15 and 30 years
- Not currently employed by the Employer (Exception: student whose part-time job will be increased to full-time)
- Currently registered in school and planning to return in September
- Eligible to work in Canada
- Cannot be hired by a person to whom they are related
Please complete the application form and send to summerstudentwork@carleton.ca before April 5, 2013.
