Group Benefits: New contact information for emergency medical assistance in Cuba
Group Benefits: New contact information for emergency medical assistance in Cuba
This information affects plan members who are travelling to Cuba. Effective immediately, if you experience a medical emergency while travelling in Cuba, to request assistance, call the phone number provided in this communication.
Do not call the emergency number on the back of your Global Medical Assistance (GMA) cards if you need medical assistance in Cuba. Instead, please make a collect call to Assured Assistance at 905-816-1901. If the operator is unable to assist in making a collect call, you can choose to pay for the call and submit a claim for reimbursement later to cover the cost of long distance charges.
We recommend you write this number on your Global Medical Assistance card, so the information is close at hand. The phone number change applies only when calling from within Cuba. There is no change to the numbers provided on your GMA card when calling from other locations.
If you have any questions or require assistance, please contact Lori East at extension 8654.
