Description of Research

Using concepts of digital history and embodied history, my research explores how members of communities engage with their local history in public places of history, using digital applications. As a case study, I am curating a smartphone app, Grimsby Timescapes, which acts as a digital, interactive historic walking tour of Grimsby, Ontario’s downtown Main Street. I am interested in how local residents use the app and engage and connect with its narrative of the history of downtown.
