The Carleton Department of History annual Public History Partnerships Reception,  recognising our public history partners, will be held Thursday, January 30, 2014 from 5:30-7:30 in the Fenn Lounge, Residence Commons.

The Carleton Centre for Public History is committed to building bridges between Carleton faculty, graduate students, and the wider community of professionals working in public history and the PHPN is their foremost networking event of the year.  This year, the PHPN will be launching four outstanding publications from the Carleton Community: Canadians and their Pasts by D. A. Muise et. al.; O. D. Skelton: The Work of the World by Norman Hilmer; Peace and Conflict special issue on museums by David Dead et. al.; and The Official Picture: The NFB Still Photography Division and the Image of Canada by Carol Payne.

As well as the book launch, the PHPN Reception will be a time for students, academics, and professionals to talk about their projects, network, and get to know the broader Public History community in Ottawa.

The reception will take place on Thursday, January 30th from 5:30-7:30 PM in the Fenn Lounge of Residence Commons at Carleton University.  The location of Residence Commons is the “CO” building on this campus map.
