The Faculty of Public Affairs brings together nine academic departments, schools and institutes that offer graduate degrees, and more than a dozen organized research units dedicated to the study of the institutions and organizations that make up civic society, how they are managed, how they make decisions, and their relationships with one another.

As a graduate student in the Faculty of Public Affairs at Carleton, we’ll encourage you to step beyond the confines of a particular discipline and develop a deeper appreciation for the dynamic interplay between one field of study and another. You will also want to take full advantage of the research expertise throughout the Faculty by consulting with academic colleagues in other disciplines, attending special lectures and workshops, and much more.
