Bowden, the recent prorogation of the Ontario Legislature was both constitutional and legitimate. This was not an “abuse” of power, but the mere use of a tool at a first minister’s disposal. Roy Hanes, an associate professor in Carleton’s School of Social Work, recently presented a paper at the United Nations during a conference of state parties. He was invited by the World Disability Union as part of the fifth anniversary celebration of the UN Convention on the Rights of People with Disabilities (CPRD).Disability advocates and researchers representing 119 member states which have ratified the CRPD were in attendance.
