Almost 500 people attended events ranging from women in politics to youth at risk.

Perhaps it was the standing-room-only crowd at the She Will Run: Women in Politics event.

Or the large public turnout at the Preventing Future Insurgencies panel discussion.

Or the signs of community-campus collaboration at the YouthREX launch.

But early on, it was pretty clear that FPA Research Month is attracting lively and engaged crowds.

“This is a chance for our researchers—whether students or faculty—to shine,” said Dean André Plourde. “We are excited to see the public joining us, asking questions, and learning what public affairs are all about.”

Next week promises to be just as exciting with the launch of our display of elections posters and memorabilia at the MacOdrum Library. The Get Out the Vote display features a scavenger hunt and a chance to take a selfie with a bust of Pierre Trudeau.

We’re also preparing for our Undergraduate Research Showcase on Tuesday in the Discovery Centre of the MacOdrum Library. It’s a great chance to see the interesting research opportunities available for FPA undergraduates.
