Faculty travel grants for research/conference travel to Russia or Russia related events

The Faculty of Public Affairs is pleased to announce:

Faculty travel grants for research/conference travel to Russia or Russia related events.

Carleton’s  Magna Fund For Russian Studies (based in The Faculty of Public Affairs at Carleton University)  can offer  four  or more grants to Carleton faculty members to support travel to Russia or elsewhere to undertake fieldwork on Russia or Russian relations with the outside world, to participate in Russian studies  research-related conferences or workshops  , or to develop or reinforce university-based research partnerships or exchange programs   between Russia and Canada.    Recipients of grants may be asked to present a research seminar or public lecture following return from the travel.

The maximum grant is $ 2500 and is intended to supplement other funding.

Eligibility:  All Faculty members at Carleton University

Applications should include:

  • A letter of application, outlining the importance of the travel and the purpose of the grant ;
  • For conference or workshop participation, an abstract of the paper and indication of acceptance of the paper by the conference organizers;
  • A listing of other support that is expected or has been applied for and justification of the amount requested from Magna Fund.

We will begin considering applications on March 21, until available funds are exhausted.   Grant must be used by December 31, 2011.  Please send your application to Ginette Lafleur , EURUS Administrator, 1311 Dunton Tower or by email at ginette_lafleur@carleton.ca.
