School of Social Work hosts third Annual Research Day
On April 2, the School of Social Work held its Third Annual Research Day, featuring presentations by faculty members, graduate students and individuals from the broader community on research related to violence against women, social work with older adults, Native American worldviews, and evaluations of community-based health and social programs.
Among the faculty members participating in the event were Professors Diana Majury, Hugh Armstrong, Behnam Behnia, Karen Schwartz, Pat Evans, Shereen Ismael, Roy Hanes, Steven Hick, Therese Jennissen and Adje van de Sande. Professor Armstrong led a session on lessons from the SSHRC Standards Grants Process, having recently served on the Council’s Committee on Social Work and Health Studies.
The Day concluded with a reception sponsored by the Social Work Chapter of the Alumni Association.
