Our goal is to create a learning community in which students at all levels, and their faculty mentors, can engage in the pursuit of knowledge across and between a broad range of disciplines in the arts, humanities, and social sciences – les sciences humaines. You will find in FASS a range of departments, schools, centres and institutes covering everything from Music to Neuroscience, and a great deal between. We offer students a wide variety of courses and programs, including our innovative ArtsOne initiative. We offer faculty an excellent research and teaching environment located strategically in the nation’s capital.

As a Carleton graduate myself (B.A. 1973), I was delighted to be invited in the spring of 2005 to return to my academic roots as Dean. I know from personal experience what a wonderful place Carleton is at which to work and to study, and I look forward to leading the Faculty into a new era of growth and achievement.
