GS only bought an equity stake in FB to shop the deal to offshore investors and GS capital partners had passed on the investment. GS is only collecting fees (450bps transaction fees + 500bps on gains). FB users sold their souls/info to management, definitely not the banker. what’s a couple million in fees compared to a 60bn implied valuation. what a baseless article title.
