Nemiroff elected to Royal Society
Diana Nemiroff has been elected to the Royal Society of Canada (RSC) for her exceptional contributions to Canadian intellectual life and advancing knowledge and scholarship in Canada.
Nemiroff has developed an international reputation in the contemporary art world. Currently the director of Carleton University’s Art Gallery, she was a senior curator at the National Gallery of Canada from 1990 to 2005 and held assistant and associate curator positions with the Gallery since 1983, dealing mainly with contemporary and 20th century art.
Nemiroff has been an adjunct professor with the School for Studies in Art and Culture at Carleton University since 2000 and is also an adjunct professor in the Department of Visual Arts at the University of Ottawa.
Her research interests include contemporary Canadian art, First Nations art, 20th century feminist art, and the history of museums and alternative venues for exhibitions.
