FASS researcher hosts TIFF retrospective

André Loiselle, acting director, School of Canadian Studies, will host a retrospective of Quebec filmmaker Michel Brault’s films at the Toronto International Film Festival, 12-15 September. The retrospective includes a roundtable session with Brault and Denys Arcand. They will discuss the impact of documentary film on Quebec cinema.

On Thursday, August 23, Pages Books & Magazines and the Toronto International Film Festival Group launched Loiselle’s new book: Cinema As History: Michel Brault and Modern Quebec. Michel Brault attended the launch and discussed his career.
