Early Summer 2009 Examination Schedule
June 30-July 4, 2009

Final examinations will be held  from June 30 to July 4, 2009.

PLEASE NOTE:
CONFLICTS & OVERLOADS:

Students who think they have a conflict or overload should check their course and section registration in Carleton Central. If there is still a concern, it should be reported as soon as possible to Examination Services in 508 University Centre, or by telephone 613-520-4454, or email examinations@carleton.ca.

A conflict is defined as two exams scheduled for the same time.

An overload is defined as:

  1. 3 or more exams scheduled in 3 consecutive periods;
  2. 4 or more exams scheduled in 5 consecutive periods; or
  3. 5 or more exams scheduled in 7 consecutive periods.

A “period” refers to the morning (0900), afternoon (1400), or evening (1900) slot on an examination day. For example, “three exams in three consecutive periods” would be exams scheduled in:

  1. the morning, afternoon, and evening of the same day,
  2. the afternoon and evening of one day and the morning of the next day, or
  3. the evening of one day and the morning and afternoon of the next day.

FOR STUDENTS ON THE CARLETON/UNIVERSITY OF OTTAWA EXCHANGE PROGRAM
Carleton and University of Ottawa Exchange Program students who have conflicts between Carleton and University of Ottawa exams should proceed as follows:

  1. Carleton students should contact Examination Services at Carleton.
  2. University of Ottawa students should contact the instructor of the University of Ottawa course involved.

AT YOUR EXAMINATION SITE:

VERIFYING YOUR IDENTITY AT EXAMINATION SITES
Examinees are expected to present their Campus Cards to establish their identity. In the case of veiled students,

  1. if the picture on the student’s Campus Card shows her fully veiled, a proctor will verify that the name, student number, and signature the student provides at sign-in are a match for the information on her Campus Card.
  2. if the picture on the student’s Campus Card shows her without a veil, the student will be asked to take her Campus Card and accompany a female staff member to a private area where she will be asked to remove her veil to verify that she is the person pictured on the Card.

VALUABLES AT EXAMINATION SITES
Examination rules specify that you may not bring to your seat in the Examination Room, or during the examination refer to, any books, papers, audio or electronic devices, laptop computers, or other aids unless the use of such material/equipment is authorized by the examiner on the examination paper. Unauthorized items include - but are not limited to - backpacks, large purses, coats, pencil and calculator cases, and sound or image players/recorders/transmitters, including cell phones and pagers.

The University does not provide secure storage areas at examination sites, and is not responsible for lost or stolen articles. Therefore, students should bring only authorized items to the examination site. We urge students to leave unauthorized articles at home or in another location that they feel is safe. Any student who does bring unauthorized items to their Examination Room must leave these articles in a location designated by the Proctor – usually at the front of the room, but otherwise any other location within the room that has been set aside by the Examinations staff for depositing unauthorized material. All electronic devices that are brought to the examination site must be left in the designated area and must be turned off.
