Research

System and component level modelling of solar thermal energy systems and sensible heat storages, supported by experimental analysis; investigations related to the impact of large-scale implementation of solar thermal systems on electric utility peak loads; optimization and integration of new solar thermal technologies with conventional heating and cooling systems; experimental and numerical evaluation of fl owing electrolyte direct methanol fuel cells.

Application

The design and optimization of small-scale thermal energy storages for potable water applications; the design and integration of solar combined systems, for space and water heating including their integration with conventional building systems; investigations related to advanced buildings, including energy effi cient and sustainable energy concepts for commercial and residential applications.
