BEng New 1st Year Students

BEng New 1st Year Students

New 1st year Bachelor of Engineering students were assigned a pre-determined set of classes (Block registration). This “Block” has now been removed since many of the course sections (lectures/labs/tutorials) are now full. You now must build your own timetable according to your program requirements in the Undergraduate Calendar.

  1. Review your Prerequisite Tree  to determine which courses you are required to take in the fall and winter terms. Be sure to check if you need any Complementary Studies Electives, which are required in some programs.
  2. Use the Engineering Scheduler Tool to help you create a conflict-free timetable. Within this tool there is a feature called “Timetable Whiz” (tab on the top of the screen).  The Timetable Whiz can generate conflict free timetables for you, all you need to do is list all the courses you wish to take and let the Whiz do the work!  Please note that scheduling conflicts of any kind are not permitted.
  3. Remember - you must still register in Carleton Central.
  4. You can review your timetable in Carleton Central at any time by using the link at the bottom of the ‘Add/Drop’ page titled ‘Student Timetable’. Don’t forget to review both Fall and Winter terms, also, skip ahead a few weeks into the schedule to see a full week of courses.
  5. If you are experiencing difficulties please contact the Academic Support Office for Engineering at 613-520-4067.  Staff are available to assist you.
