Renowned architect shares works with Carleton

Internationally acclaimed Canadian architect Douglas Cardinal donated a collection of more than 25 years of his work to Carleton.
Architectural students in Azrieli School of Architecture and Urbanism, as well as students of Aboriginal studies, commerce, public history, political science and heritage conservation will have the opportunity to benefit from Cardinal’s work. His donation includes drawings, plans, 3D models and correspondence files relating to the Museum of Civilization (nominated as one of the seven wonders of Canada), the Museum of the American Indian in Washington, D.C., the First Nation University in Saskatchewan, Oneida Casino Children’s and Elders Center in New York and other projects dating back to 1984.
“Not only do we have the Cardinal collection, he wants to remain engaged with us because he feels he learns from our students and faculty,” says Patti Harper, the library’s head archivist. “And we feel we learn from him.”
