Brief summary:

The webinar will discuss the new EU framework for climate and energy policies that was released on October 23 2014. This strategic framework consists of binding targets for greenhouse gas emissions, a European wide renewable energy target, an increase in energy efficiency goals and a structural change to the EU emissions trading system for carbon. We will discuss changes to previous targets, the functioning of the emission trading regime and carbon prices. We will deliberate implications for European climate and energy policies and the European position in the light of reaching a new climate change agreement in Paris in 2015.
