Graduate student co-op applications can be submitted online. Audit reviews take place in early September for January work terms, in early January for May work terms and in early May for September work terms to determine eligibility for co-op participation. Students will be contacted through their connect email account of an admission decision shortly after the audit review. If admitted to co-op, this email will contain information on how to proceed with a first co-op work term. Additionally, students will receive information about participation in the Co-op Work Term Preparation Workshop. Graduate students are not required to register for COOP 1000.
At the beginning of each work term students will be registered in their appropriate work term course. Registration in the course will trigger the work term fee of $390 to each students account. Each student will be notified when this has taken place. They can pay via Carleton Central as they would do for any other academic course.
At the end of each work term, students are required to submit a work term report as well as a work term evaluation. The work term report is a chance to reflect on experiences during the work term, and what was learned. Additionally, the work term evaluation is the student’s chance to discuss their performance as an employee, with the employer and co-op coordinator.
These end-of-term evaluations are designed to assist personal development in order to increase potential employability and workplace success in the future
