Considering University?
Considering university? Not sure about returning to school?
If you have been away from school for a number of years, you may not be confident in your abilities. The Bridging Program is designed to help you develop effective academic skills and habits. As you learn the course material, you will also develop skills in research, essay writing, critical thinking, oral presentations, studying for exams, and more. If you are willing to work hard, there is plenty of support available to help you succeed.
You may be concerned about being older than the typical university student. Perhaps you’ll feel out of place on campus? How will you juggle your various responsibilities? Being older has its challenges, but also many advantages. Many successful Bridging students have started university in their 20s, 30s, 40s and beyond. They have found that maturity and experience can be real assets. Being in the Bridging Program also provides a built-in support network of classmates, faculty and staff who understand the challenges and can help you adjust.
Perhaps you’ve had negative educational experiences in the past. Bridging students report that the course gives them a new perspective on their own experiences and helps them make a fresh start. Keep in mind that university is very different than high school, and you are likely different now too. Many mature students report that they feel more focused and motivated than ever about their education.
