Jean-Nicolas Bach will be Visiting Researcher in the Institute of African Studies in Carleton University for two months (28 February-21 March 2015).

Jean-Nicolas holds a Ph.D. in Political Science (2011, Institute of Political Studies, Bordeaux, France) and is currently associate researcher in the laboratory Les Afriques dans le Monde, Sciences Po Bordeaux, where he leads a research programme on the Horn of Africa.
His research focuses on state-formation, opposition parties and opponents in contemporary Ethiopia. During his stay in Carleton, he will be working on material collected in Ethiopia in 2014 (mainly interviews with political opponents) and the coming Ethiopian general election to be held on 24th May 2015.
